Emirates Opens Renovated Lounge at the Auckland International Airport

Matthew Justice / Apr 18, 2025

Emirates has reopened its Auckland (AKL) lounge after being closed since January for renovations. The lounge has a capacity for 220 customers and spans 13,120 square feet (1,220 m²).

The lounge is located in Terminal 1 and is currently open from 16:30 to 20:30 (8:30 pm). However, starting in late April 2025, the lounge will be extending hours to accommodate Qantas customers since the Qantas lounges will close for refurbishment.

Some of the improvements follow the design of the renovated Brisbane Lounge (BNE), including new flooring and design features. The full buffet includes upscale food options (all Halal), including some plated options. There is also self-serve expresso, wine and alcohol.

Emirates Skywards members who have obtained the Platinum and Gold status and Qantas Frequent Flyer rewards program members have access to the lounge. Customers can access the lounge up to four hours before departure.

Closing Thoughts

The lounge appears to have had a minor renovation based on the before and after photos. Overall, the lounge refresh seems nice, but still, the lounge does not match the quality seen at other Emirates lounges worldwide.
