Lounge Review: Chase Sapphire Lounge - New York (LGA) Terminal B

I was recently in New York and able to visit the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LaGuardia International Airport (LGA). I arrived around 10:45 a.m. on a Monday before my flight back to Austin. Overall, the lounge was spacious with comfortable seating, great dining options, and some great amenities.

Location and Access

The Chase Sapphire Lounge is located in Terminal B, directly next door to the American Express Centurion Lounge, and is open from 04:30 to 21:30 (9:30 PM) daily. LaGuardia Terminal B currently serves six airlines, including Air Canada, American, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, and United. This beautiful new terminal (opened in 2022) sits between Terminal A and Terminal C but, unfortunately, is not connected airside. So if you are departing on a flight from another terminal, you will have to exit and take a shuttle to connect to the other terminal, then clear security. I did this during my visit since I was flying on Delta. I was able to transfer via shuttle bus from Terminal B to C in about 15 minutes, with another 10 minutes to clear security. I recommend you make sure you have plenty of time when doing this transfer.

To access the lounge, I used my Chase Sapphire Reserve card. The awesome part of this lounge is that it is operated by The Club, so you can also use your Priority Pass membership to gain access along with two (free) guests. One catch is that if you don't have the Sapphire Reserve Card, you are limited to one visit per calendar year using your Priority Pass membership. Additional visits or additional guests above the 2 are $75 per person.

Lounge Amenities

The lounge has many amenities to discuss. First, the lounge is very large, spanning two levels and almost 22,000 square feet (2044 m²). While there, I did not visit the private Reserve Suites or the spa area, but I was able to see everything else. The centerpiece of the lounge is a round bar centrally situated with the rest of the surrounding lounge. Throughout the lounge, there is art and décor, giving the lounge a modern and warm feeling. One thing this lounge has that I have never seen before is an "Arcade" which has a jukebox, table shuffleboard, and a pinball machine. This arcade is partially hidden behind a curtain off to the side of the lounge. This area is great for children or those wanting to have play before boarding their flights.

Seating and Work Areas

The lounge has various seating options spanning the two levels. There are sofas, work tables, single chairs, booths, and bar seating. There is also a quiet room and multiple table areas for working.

Downstairs there are several great places for focusing on work, including a private closed-in phone booth and several semi-private working areas with tables. I did notice that almost everywhere I sat, there were charging plugs (USB-A), which are great for both working and between flights.

Food and Beverage

The food and beverage options are one of the top aspects of the lounge. I did arrive at a strange time when they were spinning down breakfast and moving to their "All day" menu. I was a little bummed to see breakfast end at 10:30 since that did seem a bit early. I was hoping for breakfast, and my body was not yet ready for lunch. With that being said, the All day menu had some great options for picky and not-picky eaters alike.

One thing I loved about the menu is how they broke down each item and listed its dietary restrictions (see bottom of menu). I tried the Fresh ricotta with peppers and sage, the beets with apples and enjoyed a caffè Americano coffee from the espresso machine.

There was a good split of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as healthy and not-so-healthy items to choose from. I love how the food is served as already-plated items, or you can order (complimentary) table delivery using the QR code on your table.

Restrooms and Showers

The in-lounge restrooms were very spacious and clean. They have large all-gender restrooms that are great for accessibility and family use, along with a changing table for babies.

The lounge also has gender-specific restrooms with private floor-to-ceiling stalls, multiple sinks, and large mirrors.

Internet and Noise

The lounge had blazing-fast internet. During my Wi-Fi test, the speed came out to 528 down and 574 up (Mbps) with a latency of 8 ms. The overall noise in the lounge was very quiet (62 dB), partially because the occupancy was only around 25% full. It was so quiet that I almost drifted off while reading.

Closing Thoughts

Overall, I found this lounge unique, modern, and one of the nicest lounges I have been to this year. I have been to three of the Chase lounges, and the Boston location is still my favorite, but this location is still very impressive. The lack of outside views and natural light was my least favorite part of the lounge. I was only in the lounge for about an hour. I look forward to going back later this year and visiting the lounge again.
