Air India Opens Maharaja Lounge at San Francisco Airport (SFO)
Air India has opened a brand-new Maharaja Lounge at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This lounge opened in late March 2026 and is located in International Terminal 1 - Concourse A, and is open daily from 06:00 to 00:00 (midnight).
The lounge features marble, leather, and warm tones. There are seating areas at the bar, around the windows, and throughout the lounge for travelers to relax. The lounge is on the small side, spanning just 3,413 square feet (317 m²), but seems to have done a great job adding seats. Air India operates a very small network of lounges (currently 6 locations), so the opening of this location is a positive move in the transformation that Air India is undergoing, including the recent opening of the Air India (International) Lounge in Delhi, marking the second Air India lounge to open in 2026.
Note: There are some great photos of the lounge posted on FlyerTalk.

Closing Thoughts
The opening of this new Star Alliance lounge in the A Gates is great and especially great for Air India passengers since Air India departs from the A Gates at SFO. Although this lounge is a bit small, it really seems nice. I went to and reviewed the Air India lounge at JFK and was mostly impressed with the food; I can only imagine the food at the SFO location is amazing.
