Star Alliance Information and Member Airlines

Star Alliance is a worldwide airline alliance consisting of 25 member airlines. Star Alliance, founded in 1997, was the first of the global airline alliances. The Star Alliance is the largest alliance with a fleet of over 5,000 aircraft, serving more than 1,300 airports across 195 countries. There are two other airline alliances: oneworld and SkyTeam.

Besides the member lounges, Star Alliance operates 6 Star Alliance-branded lounges worldwide. These lounges offer paid access and can be found in Amsterdam (AMS), Buenos Aires (EZE), Guangzhou (CAN), Los Angeles (LAX), Paris (CDG), and Rio de Janeiro (GIG). Note: to use paid access you must be flying on a Star Alliance carrier.
Upcoming Changes
- ITA Airways is scheduled to join Star Alliance sometime in 2026.
