United Club is Reopening at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)

The Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok International Airport (HKG) will soon celebrate the reopening of the United Club lounge. The lounge is expected to open sometime in June or July 2025. This (re)opening will add a second Star Alliance location (including the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge) available to eligible customers.
The United Club in Hong Kong closed in February 2020 during the pandemic and has not reopened since. The lounge is located in Terminal 1 near Gate 60. The United Club HKG shows "Temporarily closed" on the United Club and lounge locations page. Once open, the Hong Kong United Club will become the 5th international United Club location, joining Guam (GUM), London (LHR), Mexico City (MEX), and Tokyo (NRT) airports.
The HKG airport currently has 16 lounges for travelers (all located in Terminal 1); they include:
- American Express Centurion Lounge
- Cathay Pacific Lounges (4)
- Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club (2024 Lounge of the Year - Asia Pacific Winner) *
- Emirates Lounge
- Hong Kong Airlines - Club Autus
- Kyra Lounge (2025 Lounge of the Year - Asia Pacific Winner) *
- Plaza Premium Lounges (4) *
- Qantas Club
- Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge
*The Hong Kong Airport (HKG) has seven Priority Pass options consisting of five lounges and two restaurants.

Closing Thoughts
The reopening of the lounge is exciting for both Star Alliance and United Airlines travelers. I hope they spend some time refreshing the United Club location before the re-opening.
