Chase Sapphire Lounge Hong Kong (HKG) is Closing on January 5, 2026
In news first spotted on the AwardWallet website, it appears that Chase will be closing its first ever Sapphire Lounge, which is located at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) after being open for just a little over 3 years on January 5th, 2026.
This lounge first opened in November 2022 and has been a well-liked location for those traveling from HKIA. This lounge is especially popular for those with Priority Pass since it is not limited to the one visit per year threshold of other Sapphire Lounges with Priority Pass; instead, the Hong Kong location allows unlimited Priority Pass visits. The HGK Sapphire Lounge has also won awards for the best 2024 Asia Pacific Priority Pass lounge, as well as sixth place for World’s Best Independent Airport Lounges 2025 by Skytrax.
It is unknown at the time what this location will become, but this lounge spans 11,950 square feet (1,110 m²) so it has room to become something exciting.
Other Priority Pass Options
Once the lounge closes there will be a handful of other options for eligible Priority Pass members, including:
- Kyra Lounge - located in Terminal 1, near Gate 23
- Plaza Premium Lounges (3) - Terminal 1, near Gates 1, 35, and 60
- Dining: Intervals Sky Bar & Restaurant - Terminal 1, near Gate 12
- Dining: Putien - Terminal 1
In addition to the Priority Pass options and airline lounges, there is also a Centurion Lounge located in Terminal 1, near Gate 60 for eligible customers.

Closing Thoughts
I have been a big fan of the Sapphire Lounges ever since I went to my first one in Boston. No official reason has been given for the Hong Kong closure, but I know it will be missed. It has been known for a while to have better food than many other lounge options at HKIA.
