Aspire and WestJet Open (U.S. Transborder) Garden Lounge in Calgary
WestJet and Aspire Executive Lounges have partnered to open a newly expanded lounge at the Calgary International Airport (YYC). The new Aspire WestJet Garden Lounge expands the seating from 90 to 216 seats and offers upgraded amenities in a garden-inspired ambiance. Guests can enjoy complimentary full-service beverages, an array of gourmet food options curated throughout the day by acclaimed local culinary partners, such as the Charcut Group, along with high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, comfortable seating, and shower facilities.
Location and Hours
This lounge is an extension of the existing Aspire (Transborder) lounge. The lounge is located in the (U.S. Transborder) E gates and is open daily from 04:30 to 19:00 (7 pm). Guests can enjoy complimentary full-service beverages, an array of gourmet food options curated throughout the day by acclaimed local culinary partners, such as the Charcut Group, along with high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, comfortable seating, and shower facilities.
Access
Complimentary access is available to WestJet passengers travelling in a premium cabin and those with specific status, as well as with credit cards that include an Aspire lounge access benefit. Regardless of status or airline, transborder passengers can access the lounge for a fee. WestJet passengers without complimentary access receive a 10% discount. This lounge is also a member of the Priority Pass program, but may have restricted access during high-demand times.
Closing Thoughts
We have seen many lounges incorporate nature and garden themes into their lounges. Most notable is the Centurion Lounge at Atlanta International Airport. I visited this lounge back in 2017, before the expansion, and was impressed.
