Etihad Airways has temporarily closed their London Heathrow (LHR) lounge for "major renovations." Strangely, it was an all-of-a-sudden closure without much notice to customers. The Heathrow Etihad Lounge is located in Terminal 4 and prior to its closure was open daily from 06:00 to 22:00 (10 pm).

The lounge closed on September 1, 2026, and there is no notification of when the lounge will reopen, but if it entails major renovations, this could take some time.

Replacment Lounges

During the renovations, Etihad has partnered with two other lounges at Heathrow that are available for access depending on ticket class or flight number.

  1. The Residence and First Class guests on EY068, as well as eligible guests on flights EY062, EY064, and EY066 can use the Gulf Air Falcon Gold Lounge located in Terminal 4, near Gate 5.
  2. Business Class and eligible Etihad Guest members on flight EY068 can use the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 4, near Gate 10.

Closing Thoughts

This change will be considerable for those who are used to or were expecting the premium offerings that Etihad had been offering in London. Now travelers will need to determine which lounge they are eligible for, and some will lose premium amenities they had with the Etihad lounge.
