ITA Airways has Opened the Runway Lounge at Milan (LIN) Airport

ITA Airways has completed its redesign of the Runway Lounge at the Milan Linate (LIN) Airport in Italy and opened its doors on May 15th, 2025. The upgraded lounge is located near gate A17 in the Schengen departure area. The lounge is open daily from 06:00 to 22:00 (10 pm) and spans 5,188 square feet (482 m²), with a capacity for 125 customers.
Amenities
The lounge is divided into three different zones, each with a distinct purpose: relaxation, working, or dining. The "silent room" is located inside an ITA Airways replica cabin. The lounge also has windows overlooking the airport and allowing in natural light. There are private work areas (phone booths) that are ideal for calls and meetings. The lounge has a digital newsstand and magazines with access to over 1000 publications with content from 62 countries in 35 different languages.

À la carte meals are served at various meal times around breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there is an evening aperitif "aperitivo" starting at 17:00 (5 pm). ITA has partnered with Campari Group to showcase the Italian spirit with a Campari Wall and signature Runway Shakerato cocktail, Campari Spritz, and others. For coffee lovers, the they have partnered with the Italian coffee brand illycaffè, which serves freshly ground coffee.

Access
Access to the lounge is reserved for business class passengers on ITA or any other Lufthansa group airline (Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and Eurowings), as well as Star Alliance Gold card members, Executive and Premium Volare members, HON Circle and Senator Miles&More members, and ITA Airways American Express Gold or Platinum members. The Runway Lounge is the first to display "Member of Lufthansa Group" following the group's acquisition of a 41% stake in the Italian carrier earlier this year. ITA Airways is planned to join Star Alliance sometime in 2026.

The overall design of this lounge looks impressive and comfortable. The Milan Linate airport is busy, with 1.25 million passengers in Q1 2025, and has six operating lounges. I like the aircraft replica "silent room" they added.
