Turkish Airlines has opened a lounge at the Edinburgh Airport (EDI) in Scotland. This opening marks the first Turkish Airlines lounge in Europe and twenty-fourth location worldwide. Turkish Airlines had their ribbon cutting and grand opening on December 10, 2025. The new Turkish lounge is run by Plaza Premium and takes over the previous Plaza Premium location near gate 16. The lounge is open daily from 04:00 to 22:00 (10 pm) and spans 7,244 square feet (673 m²) with seating for 149 passengers.

The opening of our new Turkish Airlines Lounge at Edinburgh Airport marks an important milestone for our airline. As our first abroad lounge in Europe and our eighth outside of Türkiye, this investment demonstrates our deep commitment to our European operations where we already possess a strong presence as the best airline* of the continent. Looking ahead, we will continue to build on our presence in the region and bringing our award-winning hospitality closer to travellers here.

Access

Turkish Airlines First or Business Class passengers, Turkish Miles&Smiles Elite customers, Star Alliance Gold members traveling on a Star Alliance flight, and Priority Pass and Dragonpass members (if space allows) have complimentary access. The lounge is also available for purchase in advance on the Plaza Premium site, as well as day passes purchased directly at the lounge.

Upgraded Dining

The food in the lounge appears to have been upgraded along with the addition of many Turkish items. The menu has been translated into Turkish, and many halal items are now available. Some Turkish items include red lentil soup, menemen (Turkish scrambled eggs with veggies), Khabeesa (an Arabic dessert), and the replacement of pork using chicken or turkey.

There are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as Turkish tea and coffee. The Loch Lomond Bar serves beer, wine, and cocktails as well as a premium selection of Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia spirits.

Amenities

The lounge is divided into different zones optimized for different travelers. There are dedicated work and relaxation areas. There is also a focus on traveling families, including a dedicated kids area and private nursing rooms. The lounge also features two prayer rooms with ablution facilities. Throughout the lounge, natural light is used as much as possible, including views of the airport and surrounding hills. Standard amenities include an accessible restroom, TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi, and flight information screens.

Closing Thoughts

Currently, Turkish Airlines offers 10 flights per week to Istanbul (IST), which are operated by single-aisle Airbus A321neo aircraft. Being a smaller aircraft means the lounge will likely have spare capacity between flights, thus hopefully allowing non-Turkish Airlines passengers a chance to use the lounge.
