Key Takeaways

  • The Executive is a new premium lounge at Manchester Airport Terminal 2 offering a more upscale alternative to standard Escape Lounge.
  • Upgraded food and drink experience, including hot seasonal dishes, barista coffee, deli options, and premium beverages.
  • Open access with pre-booking or pay at the door, but entry is subject to availability and typical stay limits apply.

Escape Lounges has a new lounge concept called The Executive, and they have opened their first location on June 29th at Manchester Ringway International Airport (MAN) in England. This new lounge provides an elevated experience with premium furnishings, upscale dining, and curated art throughout the lounge.

The lounge is located in Terminal 2 in the upper departure area, next to the Escape Lounge, with a nearby elevator (lift) and escalator. The lounge is open daily from 03:00 to 20:45 (8:45 pm).

Access

The Executive is a common-use lounge open to all travelers. You can pay at the door or reserve online in advance to save (pricing starts at £57.99 per person). Currently, The Executive is not part of Dragonpass or Priority Pass programs. You can access the lounge 2.5 hours prior to departure, unless you are entering as part of an airline pass where you are able to enter 3 hours before departure. Adult pricing applies to guests aged 16 and above. Child pricing applies to guests aged 3–15. Infants under 3 can enter the lounge for free. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by someone 18 or over. Also note that because Ryanair departs from Terminal 3, those traveling on Ryanair will not be able to access this lounge.

Amenities

The lounge offers amenities to travelers of all types. Once inside the lounge, you can enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows with runway views. Also, standard amenities include free high-speed Wi-Fi, charging ports, flight monitors, and dedicated in-lounge restrooms.

Food and Beverage

It appears that food and beverage is where The Executive excels. The lounge provides a hot food buffet, a deli corner, a dessert and bakery area, and a salad bar for customers to enjoy. There is a full-service bar offering premium wine, champagne, beer, spirits, and cocktails. There are soft drinks, teas, coffee, and an onsite barista to make custom espresso drinks. The menus are expected to rotate regularly and also include vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, sealed gluten-free products, as well as halal options.

The lounge offers an extensive menu broken down by beverage, time of day, and type of food.

Terminal 1 and Emirates

After the closing of Terminal 1 in November 2025, there has been a lot of lounge activity at the Manchester airport. Emirates is currently building a new lounge in Terminal 2 (expected to open in late 2026) after its previous T1 lounge closed. Emirates has been using the 1903 Lounge, which is expected to close on June 30, 2026. Once the 1903 closes, Emirates and other contracted airlines will likely shift customers to the new Executive Lounge until theirs opens.

Closing Thoughts

This new upscale lounge looks very nice. I do expect it to be crowded, especially with contracted airlines, until Emirates opens their new lounge. I see this lounge positioned perfectly to compete with Plaza Premium First, Clubrooms by No1 Lounges, and some ultra-premium airline lounges.
