SkyTeam Alliance Welcomes Virgin Atlantic as New Member Airline
On March 2, 2023, Virgin Atlantic officially became part of the SkyTeam Alliance. Virgin Atlantic is the only UK-based carrier that is part of SkyTeam, and it will open up the door for more reciprocal points earning, redemption options, and elite benefits. With the addition of Virgin Atlantic, SkyTeam now has 19 member airlines.
Virgin Atlantic is the first airline to join the SkyTeam since 2014, which is newsworthy in the airline alliance world.

Closing Thoughts
As I wrote back in September 2022, when the announcement was made about Virgin joining SkyTeam, I still think this will benefit many travelers and open up lounge options, especially to the higher-tier status on member airlines.
