Lounge Review: The Club Lounge - New Orleans (MSY) Terminal A
On a recent trip back from Orlando, I had a 2-hour layover at the New Orleans (MSY) airport and a chance to visit the new(ish) airport terminal which opened in November 2019. During this stop, I was excited to visit The Club lounge.
Location and Access
The Club lounge is located in Terminal A, near Gate A1, and the entrance is located next to Vino Volo on the second level. You will find an elevator that goes to the 3rd floor, where the lounge is located. Once in the lounge, you will be greeted at the front desk. I arrived in the evening, and there was a 25-minute wait for entrance. I placed my name on the waitlist and took a short walk around the terminal. This was my second visit to this lounge; I was also here in December of 2022, and there was no wait during that previous visit.
Lounge Amenities
Upon entering, you will see the main lounge seating area. Off to the left is the Quiet Zone with chairs and pods. If you continue straight, you will see the bar and dining area. It was busy when I went to the lounge at 7 pm (Saturday), but there was still ample seating. Since the lounge is located on the 3rd level, one floor above the terminal, the view is limited to just a few gates outside the lounge. But still not horrible since you have a very obstructed view of the ramp area.
Seating and Work Areas
In my opinion, the Quiet Zone is the best place to unwind or get some work done. Inside the room, there are individual work booths with small tables, and an isolated private room with a door that closes. The light is slightly dim, and the chairs are very comfortable. I could easily have taken a nap here, but I was limited on time. There are also three private pods, which are great for phone conversations or focusing on work. The pods have USB-A, USB-C, and A/C power. The USB-C plug provides fast charging, so that was a nice perk. While I was in the Quiet Zone, there was a lady sitting near me (not in a pod) having a full-blown conversation on her speakerphone (lounge etiquette fail).
Internet and Noise
While I was in the lounge, the noise level was slightly loud at 57.7 dB. I did test the Wi-Fi and connected without any issues and ran two speed tests. The internet speed was very good; the average across the tests was 87.4 Mbps (down) and 72.8 Mbps (up) around 8:45 pm.
Restrooms and Shower
My first stop was the restroom. They have three individual (accessible) restrooms plus a (locked) restroom/shower room. I asked the (incredibly kind) manager, Rudy, for a tour of the shower room. The shower was clean and modern; they offer towels, shampoo, and other items. To use the shower, simply ask the front desk, and they will reserve it for you. I did not use the shower, but I was nice to see it was there.
Food and Beverage
They have a limited self-serve buffet with fruit, salad, soup, warm nuts, coffee, tea, soda, and filtered sparkling water. But, in my opinion, the best feature of the lounge is its order-to-table service.
Once you find a seat, you simply scan a QR code at your table and choose from a fantastic assortment of food, desserts, and drinks. After placing my order, my beer was delivered in about 3 minutes, and the food came about 5 minutes later. The lounge employee who delivered my order was very polite. I had already eaten in Orlando and just wanted a snack, so I ordered hush puppies and a local beer. The hush puppies were awesome and freshly made. They also have a full bar where you can sit and order a drink and have food delivered as well. The bar menu includes the usual items as well as some creative (localized) cocktails.
Overall Rating: 3.98*
Pros: comfortable seating and work areas, quiet zone, showers, order-to-table service.

Closing Thoughts
I have been lucky to visit multiple Club lounges, and although small, this is one of the best and cleanest of The Club lounges I have been to. I look forward to the next chance to visit this lounge.
