Alaska Airlines Opening New Portland (PDX) Lounge on June 4th
Alaska Airlines will be opening a brand new lounge in Portland (PDX) on Thursday, June 4, 2026. This new lounge is roughly twice the size of the existing (Concourse C) lounge and has been in development for over 2 years. The expansion in Portland is part of the airline's commitment to improve lounges and reduce overcrowding, especially in its key West Coast hub airports.
Portland guests have chosen Alaska for years and played an important role in our growth in the Pacific Northwest. This new Lounge is our way of thanking them and a reflection of our growing portfolio of premium guest experiences. We look forward to opening our doors this week and welcoming guests with the signature hospitality and thoughtful touches Alaska is known for.said Shane Jones Vice President of Fleet, Products and Guest Experience
The lounge will incorporate design elements from the Pacific Northwest. Other features include high ceilings with lots of natural light, a fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows with airfield views, comfortable lounge seating, privacy booths, ample power plugs, and views of Portland's new terminal. The new lounge spans 14,000 square feet (130 m²) and has seating for over 230 guests. In addition to the design, the lounge will feature locally inspired food and beverage options, including barista-crafted beverages and a full bar.

Access
Access will be available to Alaska Lounge and Lounge+ members, as well as eligible first class passengers and travelers flying with a oneworld or partner airline. Alaska Airlines Lounge members can access eight premium lounges across Alaska and Hawaiian’s network, including its largest lounge in Seattle and additional locations at its hubs in Anchorage (ANC), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO).
Alaska Airlines in Portland and Beyond
Alaska is the largest carrier serving Portland (PDX). By this fall, Alaska will offer 50% more seats in Portland than just two years ago. The nearly $18 million investment in the Portland Lounge is part of Alaska’s growing lounge footprint and broader commitment to enhancing the guest experience. Building on this investment, Alaska recently announced plans to open a 41,000-square-foot lounge in 2027 in Seattle (SEA). The airline is also designing its first lounge in San Diego (SAN) along with a new and expanded lounge in Honolulu (HNL) which are slated to open in 2027/2028.

Closing Thoughts
Once this new lounge is open, I expect to see the current Alaska lounges in Portland (PDX) close and all traffic to use this new massive flagship lounge. Since all the other Alaska lounges offer day pass access, I expect this new lounge will also offer the option to purchase a ($65) day pass. I was in Portland (PDX) last week and was amazed at how beautiful the new terminal is and how well they have done from a lounge perspective.
