Hawaiian Airlines Announces Future Lounge in Honolulu to open in 2027
Hawaiian Airlines has shared a preview of its largest lounge investment planned to open at Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). The new (Premier Club) premium lounge will offer a modern, island-inspired experience for Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines guests. The lounge will combine premium leisure with Hawaiian hospitality with a focus on guest satisfaction. Currently the lounge is set to open in late 2027.
The initial design concepts show inspiration from Hawaii's natural elements, including sculptural elements, bold colors, and reflective light, to create a relaxing and natural environment. The lounge will be located at the entrance of the Mauka Concourse in Terminal 1 and will be five times larger than the existing premium lounge in Honolulu. Once opened, the lounge will offer an unparalleled travel experience for both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines travelers. This lounge will be the fifth Premier Club with other Hawaiian locations at Hilo (ITO), Kahului (OGG), Kona (KOA), and Lihue (LIH). I would love to see the Hawaiian Airlines branded Mastercard offer complimentary lounge passes as a benefit, as the United Explorer credit card does.
I will keep my eye open for future details and information as this lounge gets closer to opening. As far as shared lounge access currently stands, Alaska lounge members can access Alaska lounges when flying on Hawaiian Airlines, but Hawaiian lounge members can't access Alaska lounges without purchasing a day pass, and Alaska lounge members can't access Hawaiian lounges at all.
Closing Thoughts: This new extra-large lounge will significantly improve the (HNL) Hawaiian lounge experience and will be the first Alaska Airlines lounge in Honolulu. Hawaiian Airlines is investing in its lounge product, including a new Premier Club at Maui's Kahului Airport (OGG), which is great news for Hawaiian travelers.
