Chase Announces 2 New Lounges Opening in 2023

Written by Matthew Justice on Feb 18, 2023

We knew back in 2022 that Chase was planning on opening 8+ new lounges this year, but we did not know the location for the final two lounges, but now we know! It was recently reported (by View from the Wing) that Austin-Bergstrom (AUS) and Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) will be the homes for these two new lounges.

Also, while researching this news, I found a job posting from Sodexo for the Austin Chase Sapphire Lounge. It looks like they have already hired the Lounge General Manager, so hopefully, the opening date will be announced soon.

One thing about the Austin location to keep in mind is that if you are flying out of the South Terminal vs. the Main North (Barbara Jordan) Terminal, you will not be able to visit this lounge since the South and North terminals are not connected and require a shuttle bus to get between them. The south terminal is currently only used for Frontier and Allegiant Airlines.

Chase has confirmed the following upcoming locations but has not yet announced any actual opening dates:

Closing Thoughts

As a person living in Austin, I am extra excited about this news! When traveling on Delta, I always go to the Sky Club, but anytime I am on another airline, I am loungeless. I usually go to the Outdoor Observation Patio or Escape Pod when traveling from Austin, but once this opens, I will be here every chance I have.

Regarding the DFW announcement, this is also great news, even though there are many other non-airline lounges, such as Centurion, Capital One, and The Club. There will be some competition from the Capital One Lounge since it is one of my favorite lounges I visited in 2022.
