Chase Sapphire Opening 8+ New Lounges in 2023/2024

Written by Matthew Justice on Dec 12, 2022

Earlier this year, Chase opened its first Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong (HKG). This news was exciting but left people in the United States looking forward to a Sapphire Lounge in their neck of the woods. Well, according to the news, Chase is planning on opening eight new Sapphire Lounges in 2023–2024.

Update: It has been announced that Chase will be opening two new lounge locations in 2023.

Chase has confirmed the following upcoming locations but has not yet announced any actual opening dates:

  1. Boston (BOS)
  2. Las Vegas (LAS)
  3. Los Angeles (LAX)
  4. New York LaGuardia (LGA)
  5. Philadelphia (PHL)
  6. Phoenix (PHX)
  7. San Diego (SAN)
  8. Washington Dulles (IAD)

New York (LGA) and Boston (BOS) are rumored to be the next two locations to open. Once these lounges open, you can gain free access with either a Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card or a Priority Pass membership. It's unknown whether other Chase credit cards, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, will allow access on a limited or discounted entry.

Credit card lounges are nothing new; previously, American Express led the way with its upscale Centurion Lounges, and Capital One recently opened its first lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW). Capital One and American Express will also open new lounges in 2023, so the competition is heating up. Many credit cards offer Priority Pass membership as part of their card benefits. With that being said, there is a good chance that Chase Sapphire Lounges will be crowded, but having additional lounge options should help with overcrowding.

Closing Thoughts

I am excited to see so many lounge options starting to appear. I have been lucky to visit many of the Centurion lounges as well as the Capital One lounge in Dallas (DFW). Furthermore, I look forward to getting to see the Chase Lounges when they start to appear stateside. If you are looking for a credit card that will get you access to this lounge, I recommend either the Capital One Venture X card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
