News recently broke that Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) will be getting a lounge in the fall of 2024. This new lounge, called The Club MDW, will be operated by The Club Airport Lounges. The Club will be located between concourses A and B (center market area). This is exciting news for those who travel to or from Midway, as it is the first public lounge at MDW, excluding the USO loungeĀ in Concourse C.

Access

Club MDW will be accessible by either purchasing a day pass for $50 per person or using a Priority Pass membership. The Club MDW will be available to all travelers, regardless of airline or class of service. The lounge will offer its patrons complimentary food and beverage service in an inviting and relaxing environment. Throughout the lounge, there is seating, tables, and a full-service bar.

Airlines and Information

Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) is currently ranked as the 30th busiest airport in the United States, with over 22.7 million people traveling through its terminals. Construction on the 3,300-square-foot lounge will begin early in 2024, with a targeted fall 2024 opening date.

Midway currently operates flights by seven airlines, with Southwest Airlines operating the most flights. Six other airlines offer domestic and international service; these airlines include Allegiant, Avelo, Delta, Frontier, Porter (Canada), and Volaris (Mexico).

Closing Thoughts

This is exciting news for those who travel to or from Chicago Midway International Airport. I usually fly into O'Hare, but the times I have flown to MDW have proven to be much less stressful and easier to get around. This lounge will be relatively small, so I'd like to know how crowded it will be and whether wait-listing will be implemented.
