Lounge Review: Chase Sapphire Lounge - Boston Logan Airport (BOS)

I finally got a chance to visit and review the recently opened Chase Sapphire Lounge at Boston Logan Airport (BOS) on November 11, 2023. This lounge opened in May 2023 and spans over 11,500 square feet (1,068 m²). Spoiler alert: this is one of the best lounges I have been to all year, and I am already looking forward to my next time back.

Location and Access

The Chase Sapphire Lounge Boston is located near gate B40 between the B and C terminals. The lounge is open from 05:00 to 23:00 (11 pm) daily. To access the lounge, you will see an entrance area on the terminal level; simply take the elevator to the 4th floor.

Once you exit the elevator, it will open to the reception area, where you can check in. When I arrived around noon on Saturday, there was no line to enter, and two people were working at the reception desk. My check-in process took only a few minutes. I showed my boarding pass, and to my surprise, they wanted to see my Priority Pass card instead of my Sapphire Reserve card. After checking in, I was asked if I had ever been to the lounge; I said this was my first time, they said welcome, then handed me a custom lounge-branded luggage tag!

I typically travel with my Chase Sapphire Reserve card; with this card, you can have unlimited visits to this lounge. But, in addition to the Sapphire Reserve card, this lounge is also part of the Priority Pass program, which entitles you to one visit per calendar year (additional visits are available for $75 per person). Note: Chase prioritises access for Chase cardmembers due to capacity limitations.

Lounge Amenities

When I arrived in the lounge, I scanned their QR code to access the digital menu and lounge services. From the digital system, you can reserve a shower or wellness room, and you can also order food and drinks to your table. The QR codes are located all around the lounge, so you can easly order while you are seated.

The lounge offers complimentary showers and a wellness center that are bookable in the lounge or via the lounge mobile portal, which you can access when you arrive (see photo above). I recommend as soon as you enter the lounge, you make a reservation for the wellness service (or showers) since they are often booked for long periods of time. The wellness room can also be reserved as a prayer or nursing room.

The family room is nice and enclosed in the corner of the lounge. It has tables, chairs, high chairs, and some games. There are also seating and a cool reading nook. When I was there, the family room was empty, but I love lounges that offer this amenity.

The lounge has many spots for plane watching. Most of the lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide great views outside. The lounge has windows that face the ramp area and the runways.

Seating and Work Areas

There was ample seating while I was in the lounge, and the lounge was about 25% full.

Food and Beverage

Since it was lunchtime, I decided to order Miracle Dandan Noodles (smoked tofu, mushrooms, and shirataki noodles). After placing my order, I jumped over to the Taproom. As a person who loves craft beer, I was super impressed with the taproom. I know there are other lounges like the United Club in Concourse B - DEN that have onsite lounge taprooms, but I have never visited one until now. The Taproom had four beer selections to choose from, and I decided on the local Castle Island IPA.

After eating my lunch and relaxing, I decided to walk around and see the other food options in the prepared food area. One corner of the lounge is dedicated to self-serve food and drinks. Since I was mostly full, I chose the fresh ricotta (cherry peppers and sage) and vegetable lasagna (roasted squash puree, beets, and garlic spinach) along with a featured cocktail, the Fenway Vesper.

There are drinks located all throughout the lounge, including brewed coffee, expresso drinks, cold brew coffee, filtered water, teas, and a full-service bar for everything else. The lounge serves local (Atomic Coffee Roasters) coffee.

note: alcohol is not available before 8am weekly or 10am on Sunday.

Restrooms and Showers

I did not use or tour the showers, but the all-gender (single-person) restrooms were very nice, clean, and had baby-changing tables.

Internet, Noise, and Charging

There are A/C, USB-A, and USB-C charging ports throughout the lounge. While I was visiting, I tested the Wi-Fi performance; the speed test came out super fast with 516 down and 599 up (Mbps) with a latency of 15 ms. The lounge was quiet, with an average noise of 64 dB.

Overall Rating: 4.9*

Pros: comfortable seating, family room, spa services, amazing food and drinks.
Cons: no soundproof quiet room (or pods), no outdoor patio.

Closing Thoughts

This is one of the nicest lounges I have ever been to. I was there for about 2 1/2 hours and did not want to leave. Overall, the lounge feels warm and has a local Boston feel. The natural light and windows make the lounge a great place to relax or work before getting on your flight.
