Exciting news for those who fly Alaska Airlines but don't have a membership. Alaska Airlines is now offering a day pass purchase option at all three Portland International Airport (PDX) lounges.

Alaska currently has a total of nine lounges across six airports, including Anchorage (ANC), New York-Kennedy (JFK), Los Angeles (LAX), Portland (PDX), San Francisco (SFO), and Seattle (SEA). Many of these lounges offer an option to purchase a day pass for entry, but until yesterday Portland (PDX) was excluded. With the addition of the two Portland lounges, you can now access five (day pass) lounges.

Day Pass Information

Day passes can't be purchased online, but you can purchase a day pass at any lounge where day passes are offered. Unlike the American Airlines day passes, you can only use the pass at the lounge where you purchased the pass; therefore, no lounge hopping is allowed.

Closing Thoughts

This is great news for those who fly Alaska on a non-regular basis or have a layover where they want to unwind in a lounge. I have only been to an Alaska lounge when it was part of the Priority Pass program, but I remember my visit to be above average and excellent.
