American Airlines Announces Plans for Provisions To-Go Lounge (CLT)

American Airlines has announced a new grab-and-go venue called Provisions by Admirals Club at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). This new quick-turn mini-lounge is scheduled to open sometime in summer 2025 and will be located near Gate 1 in Concourse A.
We are constantly evolving our lounge strategy to meet the needs of our customers,- Heather Garboden, American's Chief Customer Officer
American is the last of the major U.S. carriers to not offer a Grab-and-Go option. Delta, United, Air Canada, and Capital One have all added this option at select airports. American is the largest operator at Charlotte, which in total operates more than 670 departures to more than 170 destinations in 27 countries.
As the airline’s second-largest hub, Charlotte plays a significant role in the connectivity of the airline, serving millions of customers every year as they travel to, from, and through CLT to destinations across our global network, said Ralph Lopez Massas, American’s Senior Vice President of CLT Operations.
Amenities
Like many other To Go lounge options, there is limited seating, but there are some standing tables and a few seats to rest while there. The main idea is to offer an option for those in a rush. There will be quick food options to choose from with items such as sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit, and more. It has also been reported that there will be a customer help desk to assist customers with travel questions or related issues.
Access
Access to the Provisions by Admirals Club will mirror that of any standard Admirals Club.
- Admirals Club membership holders
- AAdvantage Platinum (or higher) members traveling on same-day long-haul international flights
- oneworld Emerald or Sapphire members
- One-time passes are available for $79 each or 7,900 miles

Closing Thoughts
The Charlotte (CLT) location is likely just the first of these American lounges to open. I expect to see openings at other hubs around the country. I struggle to justify spending $79 for access to this lounge, I think they should consider a discounted rate since this is not a full-service lounge.
