American Airlines is rolling out new dining enhancements across its lounge network, including expanded summer menus, upgraded experiences, and QR code ordering. The changes are designed to provide travelers with a more restaurant-inspired experience before departure. Travelers can now choose from a broader selection of à la carte dishes and small plates, offering more flexibility whether they're looking for a light snack or a full meal, as well as refinements to its premium wine offerings.

Interactive Food Stations

New cooking stations add a personalized element to the dining experience. Highlights include specialty stations such as a cheesemonger cart and house-made sushi preparations, bringing a more interactive and upscale feeling to the lounge.

Flagship QR Code Ordering Expands Systemwide

Following a successful trial in Philadelphia, American has expanded its QR code-enabled scan-to-order service to all Flagship locations. Guests can order select premium dishes directly from their seats, with menu items rotating seasonally.

Examples of scan-to-order dishes include:

Admirals Club Lounges Additional More Meal Choices

American is also enhancing its Admirals Club lounges with expanded menu offerings and improved presentation. American is introducing a larger variety of dishes that will rotate more frequently throughout the year, helping create a more dynamic dining experience for frequent travelers. Admirals Club guests will also have access to upgraded premium wine selections available for purchase, such as Veuve Rosé and Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon.

With expanded menus, interactive dining stations, QR ordering, and improved food options, travelers can expect a more elevated pre-flight experience whether visiting an Admirals Club or a Flagship Lounge.

Closing Thoughts

The biggest news is the systemwide expansion of QR code seat-side ordering in Flagship Lounges, paired with broader menu selections and more premium dining options. Admirals Club visitors will also benefit from new meal options and refreshed seasonal menus throughout the summer. I do wish they would add QR code ordering to Admirals Club locations, but hopefully that will come in the future.
