Capital One Venture X Card Lounge Access Changes (February 2026)
While spending some time (last week) at the Capital One lounge in Vegas (LAS), I was thinking, and I even heard someone asking an employee about the new lounge changes going into effect on February 1st (2026). Well, the changes which were announced back in June are now live and, in my opinion, are not ideal. This is at least the 3rd round of changes that have hit the Capital One Venture X card since it was introduced in 2021, including Capital One Venture X Dropping Non-Lounges Venues and Capital One Lounge Access Changes (2025).
Changes
No more free guests. Prior to this change, you could bring two free guests to Capital One and Priority Pass lounges.
- Capital One guests now each cost $45 for adults or $25 for ages 2-17 OR spend $75K per year for free guest access (for 2 people for lounges and 1 person for Capital One Landings).
- Priority Pass guests now cost $35 per person (even with $75,000 spend)
No free additional cardholders with lounge access. Prior to the change, you could add additional cardholders, and they received lounge access. Now you have to pay $125 per additional cardholder (up to 4) to give them access to Capital One Lounges, Capital One Landings, and Priority Pass lounges.
Lounge Locations
There are currently six Capital One Lounges, and two new ones are opening later this year. I have been to three of these locations and am always very impressed overall.
- Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW)
- Denver (DEN)
- Las Vegas (LAS)
- New York (JFK)
- Washington Reagan (DCA)
- Washington Dulles (IAD)
- New York (LGA) opening in 2026
- Charlotte (CLT) opening in 2026

Closing Thoughts
If you travel alone and overcrowding is an issue, these changes will be good for you. If you travel with others (including kids), these changes are not great. The card value on the surface is still good, since you get a $300 travel credit and 10,000 bonus points on renewal, but it is not as good as it was before the changes. My card is up for renewal next month. I am not sure if I will keep it or drop it, but I will likely keep it due to its benefits.
