Dallas/Fort-Worth Airport (DFW) is Getting Two Plaza Premium Lounges

People waiting in line to enter the Plaza Premium Lounge (Terminal E) in Dallas.

Plaza Premium is growing its lounge presence in Dallas. In a recent announcement, Plaza Premium Group (PPG) announced it will be opening two brand-new lounges at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) sometime in 2026.

The new lounges will be opening in Terminal D, which is already home to six other lounges, including The Centurion Lounge, The Club, Capital One Lounge, Lufthansa Lounge, and American Airlines lounges.

Dallas already has a Plaza Premium Lounge, but it is desperately in need of a makeover and expansion. The current Plaza Premium lounge at DFW is located in Terminal E and spans ~1,400 square feet (130 m²) with a capacity for about 60 customers. This lounge is one of only two Priority Pass-eligible lounges at the Dallas (DFW) airport and thus becomes very crowded. The opening of two new and larger Plaza Premium Lounges will be great from a customer perspective.

Although we don't know all the details, we do know the Plaza Premium First will offer upscale amenities not found in the other Plaza Premium lounge. Some of the features will include upscale à la carte dining, private relaxation zones, and other amenities. Where the non-First lounge will tailor its services to business travelers, families, and leisure travelers.

As mentioned above, they are opening two new lounges following a model that has worked in other locations (see below) by opening one or more Plaza Premium lounges and a Plaza Premium First lounge in the same airport.

DFW, Gateway to the World

Dallas/Fort Worth International is the 2nd busiest airport in the United States by emplanements, sitting between Atlanta and Denver. DFW offers non-stop passenger service to over 270 destinations in 41 countries. The airport currently has 12 lounges as well as one USO lounge.

Closing Thoughts

Currently there are two Plaza Premium Lounges in the United States, one in Dallas (DFW) and the other in Orlando (MCO). The Plaza Premium Orlando (MCO) location is one of my favorite lounges in the United States. I am very excited about this opening, and being located just 200 miles south of Dallas, I look forward to visiting it when it opens.
