Back in December 2025, we reported on the future opening of two Plaza Premium Lounges at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Well, the wait is over, since the Plaza Premium and Plaza Premium First Lounges opened to the public on March 9, 2026. This is the first Plaza Premium First Lounge to open in the U.S. and the second in North America, following a 2024 opening in Vancouver (YVR). The addition of Plaza Premium First in Dallas marks the brand’s ninth location worldwide.

These lounges are located in Terminal D, near Gate 15 on the mezzanine level. To access, take the escalator up to the mezzanine, and you will be greeted at a reception desk for both lounges.

Amenites

Each of the two lounges offer something different; the Plaza Premium Lounge offers amenities for all travelers and is likely a better offering for those traveling with kids. The Plaza Premium First lounge offers a more bespoke, upper-class experience with table dining and concierge services. Common amenities include a buffet, a full bar, comfortable seating, charging ports, Wi-Fi, restrooms, and a prayer room.

The decor features natural textures and earthy tones. Standard amenities include comfortable seating with lots of options for both working and relaxing. The food has a full buffet and bar with various menu items, including vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free, and halal choices. The lounge also has a shower room that can be reserved (for an extra fee). The bar offers local beverages including Hop & Sting craft beer, TX Whiskey, and Garrison Brothers Bourbon, as well as a selection of wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic refreshments including La Colombe coffee, premium teas, juices, and soft drinks. Guests seeking a more premium dining experience can purchase items from the à la carte menu featuring standouts such as the Smash Burger, Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich, and shareable bites like crispy dumplings and fried green tomatoes, alongside a full-service bar.

Plaza Premium First Lounge

For those seeking a more upscale experience, the Plaza Premium First lounge is your place. This lounge delivers a bespoke and curated experience defined by exceptional service, refined dining, and indulgent amenities. Upon arrival, you are met by a dedicated lounge ambassador and escorted to your table, where you can enjoy a full sit-down dining experience. Menu highlights include breakfast and all-day dishes such as Brisket Benedict, Prime Steak Tips, and Duck Tacos, alongside indulgent desserts like ube cheesecake and warm bread pudding. A self-serve buffet is also available, while à la carte dishes are ordered tableside and served by staff, complemented by drink and dessert trolley service. The lounge emphasizes enhanced privacy through thoughtfully designed interiors featuring leather seating and subtle, locally inspired design touches, alongside wellness-focused amenities such as luxurious shower facilities and dedicated relaxation areas.

The beverage program features a curated selection of complimentary craft cocktails, wine, and beer, alongside a reserve list of select bottles available for purchase. Signature cocktails are complemented by a thoughtfully selected wine, beer, and spirits list.

Access

Both of these lounges are public-use lounges, meaning you can access the lounge without a membership or status. Each of them has different pricing and access options. Interestingly, these lounges have a two-hour time limit (vs. the standard three-hour rule); this is most definitely to help control overcrowding.

Plaza Premium Lounge

This lounge is open daily from 07:00 to 23:00 (11 PM) and has several options for access. Firstly, adults can pay for access: $68 for lounge access, $32 for shower only, and $88 for lounge access + shower. Children under 2 are free, and children between 2 and 11 can enter the lounge for $48 each. Next, you can access the lounge using a Priority Pass or Dragonpass membership, free of charge.

Plaza Premium First Lounge

This lounge is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00 (10 PM) and has multiple options for access. Firstly, adults can pay for access: $124 for lounge access (including shower option). Children under 2 are free, and children between 2 and 11 can enter for $88 each. Next, access is complimentary if you are traveling in business or first class on a participating airline partner, which currently includes Air France, Emirates, EVA Air, or Turkish Airlines. This lounge is not partnered with any lounge programs, but if you have access to the non-First lounge, you can buy access to the First lounge for an additional $45 per person.

Texas History

As someone who lives in Texas, I get extra enthusiastic when a new lounge opens in my state. Prior to the opening of these two new DFW Plaza Premium lounges, the last "lounge" opening was the Houston (IAH) United Club Fly, which opened in Feb 2025, and the Chase Sapphire Terrace in Austin (AUS), which opened in March 2023. Prior to these, the last full-service lounge to open in Texas was the Capital One Lounge (DFW), which opened back in 2021.

Closing Thoughts

The opening of these lounges is great news for those traveling through DFW. The DFW Terminal D is becoming a powerhouse for airport lounges, being home to the Capital One Lounge, Centurion Lounge, The Club, Lufthansa Lounge, and American Airlines Admirals Club (and Flagship Lounge), and will be the home of the Chase Sapphire Lounge once it opens later this year. I do wonder what will happen to the previous Plaza Premium Lounge located in Terminal E? I predict they will close it, but that's 100% speculation.
