Riyadh Air opens Hafawa Lounge at King Khalid International (RUH)

Riyadah Air (RX) has opened a brand-new Business Class lounge at the King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This new Hafawa Lounge is located between Terminals 1 and 2. The lounge appears to have opened on October 7th, 2025 (even though the airline has not started service) and spans 21,528 square feet (2,000 m²) with a seating for 370 guests.
"Hafawa" is an Arabic word embodying warmth and hospitality. The design features limestone, oak wood, bronze detailing, and textured plaster elements that combine to create a serene environment, drawing inspiration from the natural landscapes of Saudi Arabia. The lounge is arranged in zones tailored for individual needs. Guests can choose from relaxation, fine (or casual) dining, and many digital experiences designed for passenger entertainment. There are also private and family rooms for those seeking additional privacy.
The Café provides travelers freshly brewed coffee prepared by expert baristas, accompanied by a selection of artisanal pastries and light bites from the in-house bakery. The lounge also features a Beverage Corner where customers can get premium non-alcoholic refreshments. The Social Lounge area is a tranquil group retreat for conversation, reading, and relaxation. The Immersive Room brings digital experiences to life, reflecting Riyadh Air’s digital-first ethos. Executive Dining provides a refined à la carte experience, with private dining and executive dining areas overlooking a serene garden, creating a calming, nature-inspired setting.
Innovation is seamlessly integrated throughout the lounge and entire guest journey. From intuitive digital wayfinding to interactive engagement touchpoints, the Lounge leverages cutting-edge technology to significantly enhance the guest experience, all while preserving a sense of warmth.
Access
The Hafawa Lounge is exclusively available to Riyadh Air's Business Elite and Business Class travelers.
Press Release: Riyadh Air unveils "Hafawa Lounge", its first premium airport experienceClosing Thoughts
Kinda strange there is a new airline lounge for an airline that is not yet flying, but in late October 2025, Riyadh Air will start operations to London Heathrow (LHR), followed by Dubai. Saudia, Flynas, and Flyadeal are the main carriers operating at Riyadh (RUH). The Riyadh airport has 12 lounges, including some Priority Pass and Dragon Pass eligible options. Also worth noting that in Saudi Arabia, drinking alcohol is strictly illegal, therefore this lounge will not serve alcohol, but will have non-alcoholic options in the "Beverage Corner".
