Plaza Premium First Lounge Opens at the Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

Plaza Premium has opened its seventh “First” lounge and first location in Europe. The new Plaza Premium First opened on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO). The new lounge is located in Terminal 1 (Schengen Area) and spans 7,535 square feet (700 m²) with seating for 115 guests.

With the opening of this new First lounge, there will now be three Plaza Premium Lounges in Rome (FCO). Including the Terminal 3 location, which has won back-to-back awards (see 2025 SKYTRAX Best Lounge Awards).

This new Plaza Premium “First” lounge joins the following locations around the globe as well are three other locations that will be opening in the future.

  1. Hong Kong, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) - Terminal 1
  2. Indonesia, Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK) - Terminal 3
  3. Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) - Terminal 1
  4. Macao, Macau International Airport (MFM) - International Terminal
  5. Cambodia, Phnom Penh Techo International Airport (KTI) - Main Terminal
  6. Canada, Vancouver International Airport (YVR) - Terminal D
  7. Opening 2026: Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) - Terminal D
  8. Opening 2026: John F. Kennedy International (JFK) - Terminal 1
  9. Opening 2026: Saudi Arabia, King Khalid International (RUH)

Culinary and Beverage Experiences

The lounge features a gourmet buffet and Ă  la carte table dining at the Primo Dining Room, where guests can indulge in Italian and international dishes. Once done (or before), guests can visit the dessert bar to satisfy sweet cravings. The AeroBar offers a vast collection of fine wines, premium spirits, and signature cocktails or mocktails.

Lounge Amenities

The upscale lounge will feature some amazing amenities. Starting with options for a personal concierge and private suites that can be booked. These private suites can be used for meetings or extra privacy and comfort. The decor of the lounge brings many aspects of Italian art (with ongoing exhibitions and curated art installations), plus there is an outdoor patio that offers live music and a place to relax before the flight. There is also a big focus around family travel with the inclusion of a nursery area.

Restrooms and Shower Area

The lounge has both restrooms and shower facilities with premium toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers, skincare products, and dental kits for those wanting to use the facilities.

Access

The Plaza Premium First Lounge is open to all travelers regardless of airline or ticket class. You can purchase a reservation (currently showing ~$80 USD per person) in advance or directly by walking up to the lounge.

Closing Thoughts

The opening of the first Plaza Premium First lounge in Europe is very exciting and hopefully an indicator of what we can expect to see at the other three that are planned to open in 2026. The outdoor patio with live music is an exciting addition that I have not seen in the lounge world until now. Currently this lounge has not partnered with Priority Pass or Dragonpass, but hopefully they will eventually.
