American Express has opened a new Centurion Lounge at the Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, DC. The lounge opened its doors on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, in Terminal 2 (Level 2), just past the South security checkpoint. The lounge is in the large category, spanning 12,000 square feet (1,115 m²) with 260 seats. This is the 29th Centurion Lounge to open. This location is open from 05:00 to 21:00 (9 PM) Sun through Friday and 05:00–19:00 (7 PM) on Saturdays.

The lounge's design incorporates elements of the nation’s capital and a collection of art commissioned by local artists. The location has restrooms and shower suites, plus floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the runways and airfield.

Access

Use of the Centurion Lounge is exclusive for American Express Platinum Card members, Centurion Members, and passengers who have an American Express Delta SkyMiles Reserve card (while flying on a Delta ticket). Cardmembers can bring guests for an additional fee. Guests typically cost $50 per person (or $30 for minors) unless you charged a whopping $75,000 per year to your Amex Platinum or Delta Reserve card.

Closing Thoughts

It is exciting to have another Centurion Lounge in the mix. Washington National Airport now has seven lounges, including a USO lounge. There are plans to open a Capital One Landing lounge later this year. This Centurion Lounge was delayed over a year from its originally scheduled date.
